Was out on the lake today doing very well on the large mouth and crappies. Up ahead I could make out in the distance a whole group of canoeist. This looked to be a scout troop or something similar. I watched as this group paddled up along the bank on the other side as I. There is a huge cove here that two guys were fishing in thier boat. These guys in canoes made a right turn and went into this cove makeing so much noise and paddled right up to where these guys were trying to fish. How ignorant is this? It made me mad when I saw the fisherman start the motor and be forced to leave the cove. I am glad it wasnt me over there. I may have had a few choice words for the adults in the group. Some people dont care about anyone but themselfs. On a good note I observed a father with three young sons fishing from the bank Oldest had to be about ten youngest maybe four. These kids were havin a ball hookin up the sunnies. You should of seen the little guy using the net. His brother would lift the fish over to the bank where he stood and drop it in the net. What a riot. Was glad to see it.

---------------
Flathead

Re: Ignorant Canoeist

Ahoy, Flahthead.

Everyone's ignorant about something.

It's too bad so many folks go where their ignorance does the most to offend others. :(

I'm sure those adults are decent people, but haven't a clue about on-the-water courtesy.

Because they are in unpowered vessels, canoeists get used to haveing the right of way over powerboats. They don't realize that when the engine is off the fisherman is "adrift" and has right of way.
