I'm an Idiot, pivot pin removed

I mistakingly pulled the pivot pin out of the lower unit on my 85 evinrude 25hp, anyone know how to get it back in? Thanks.

Not likely but you can try a flashlight and an icepick to see if you can line things up.if you haven't disturbed anything it is possible.Otherwise you need to open it up and put things back together.

well I got the hole lined up but but it wont go into gear, any more ideas? how much of a job is this to fix if I have to dissasamble the lower unit, it is off the engine now. should I just look for a lower unit on ebay?Thanks guys

If you got it back in ok it should work. You do not need a new LU it only needs work.

when I put the pin in I cant move the shift rod, and its just in nuetral.

OK...get a manual, pull it down, and fix it. Shift fork fell off the clutch dog/slider. Not hard, cheap, and now you will have a FRESH LU, not a basketcase possibility off ebay (manual would have prevented this in the first place...thats why we preach a Manual...)
