well i get your drift. :D

i was just thinkin- snow blower vs weedwacker... i guess its even

then- ice auger vs bimini top.... so sorry for those ice cubes again.

man, they should just evacuate those parts, move all industry up there, cause big business can afford a heating system, then tear up all the concrete down here, and let us start another land grab, with free pond permits and such...

sure has been a cold winter Ebb... coldest in 30
yrs! gonna take a long time for the ice to get
out this year, which also will keep temps. down
especially along the lake. they have ice breakin
boats they run so they can open it up for comm.
traffic, but think it may be too thick for them
to break through for a while. at least Lake Ontario
ain't frozen. who knows, may be a bleesin
in disguise with the problems with introduced
species in these parts? the Comorants (sp) may
have high tailed back to the coast at least?
them birds is a real problem eatin the young bass.
tell ya what, all of us is sure gonna enjoy this
summmer more than most!
gonna be in the 50's this weekend here :D

I sure has been a weird one. The great lakes are more frozen, yet some lakes here have not frozen solid yet (Monona in Madison). I can see still see open water. Supposed to be 60 on Saturday. Heck today feels like spring. I think I remember Roscoe saying that the lakes near him have been frozen over for a long time.

If we had elected Al Gore, we could have kept Global Warming and you guys wouldn't be so cold. It's a trade-off anyway. You're shoveling snow and I'm already having to cut grass.

that's funny bassman :D somehow i don't think it had anything to do with weather tho... oh well, we all need to go fishing. no i don't mean drilling. but b4 long all those icecubes will be giving us heLL when its so hot ya can't even go barefoot on the beach. :p

but too bad we don't have gore, he cudda invented heaters or something spectacular to melt the ice. probably wudda tried out the new MOAB on lake superior to get it done while cutting defense spending - lol ;)

roger that jack- i cut backyard fescue last weekend- @ 8" high already. i've been staring down my new dogwoods, just daring them to start blooming- then you know the bite is on.

Oh yeah, froze is right. We had enough ice to go out icefishing about Dec 12th. I waited till New Years day though. 29+ inches the last time I was fishing. It just keeps getting thicker. We have had lots of below zero this year, and only about 6 days above freezing in 3 months. 3 days ago it was -9, today we hit 37, and this weekend-- 50+. But I suspect it will get cold again in a week or so. The water stays cold here for a long time. Panfish don't spawn till June. I probably won't do any local fishing here till Memorial Day. I will be heading south to find open water in 4 weeks. I hope I can get the boat out of the shed and through the snow by then.

Hey Scoop, 150 miles makes a world of a difference in springtime.

I am looking forward to 60 degrees this weekend also. I am ready to get rid of the snow and the cold. Not complaining, heck I live in Wisconsin and expect to get cold, but there is a limit.

Re: i'm so sorry for you yankees- lol

It is starting to heat up here, just as it does every year about this time. I try to have all outdoor repairs done to my home, and all major repairs done to everything else outside.
You fellers up in the great white north are familiar with winterizing your boats...I have never performed this ritual to my vessels ever.
However, last Saturday, I finished "summerizing" my 12 alum for the summer. It's going to get too hot for bass fishing in the breezless oxbows of the River, and the skeeters would eat me allve if I attempted such foolishness. It's motor has been fogged down, and it's little 3gallon gas tank has been drained, cleaned, and dried.
The tiny tires are up on blocks to keep them round and free from dry rot.
She has been covered from bow to transom with plastic.

My big boat gets to stay un-sumerized until I get a chance to take it out one last time to burn-off the reamaining fuel, then, it too, shall be put to bed until October or November of next year. Y'all just have fun up there in God's country. I'll just crank the A/C up, get online between thunderstorms, and dream.
I don't know who it was who coined the phrase, "Be carefull what you wish for, you may just get it".
But I'm pretty confident he built Bayliners, and moved down to Florida when he retired.
