ok i have a 1997 5.7 gs volvo penta . OK here is what is going on . I've changed ignition bypassed safety neutral switch also bypassed emergency kill switch. Traced wires everything looks good . I have 14 volts at ignition all guages and accessories work . Engine won't turn over to start with ignition switch . Any ideas? What does the 2 50 amp breakers do near stdb exhaust manifold?

Find the start assist relay and check the 15 amp fuse. The start relay is energized from the Yellow/Red wire from the key switch. The key switch applies 12V to pin 86 on relay, pin 85 is grounded. When relay energizes it passes main 12V power from pin 30 to pin 87 on the relay to the starter solenoid

Are you power to pin 86 Yel/Red wire on the relay when key is turned to start?

The 2 breakers protect the motor circuits and other is for trim

Can you get it to crank using the old screw driver across the starter solonoid way ? That would tell you a story, either way.

Is that 15 amp fuse in the lil fuse panel under the drivers side dash or is it alone somewhere?

All the fuses for the motor are on the motor. They should be close to the relays, and be covered. My be small with just 2 wires and small. Some VP motors have a fuse and panel together as one unit, don't think yours does

I have not been able to find the VP 5.7 GS, found a bunch of other models but not the GS

Without that, start at the FP relay and find the red/white wire (previously mentioned red/purple), then follow it back to the fuse
