i need to change my impellar but have got no idea how to go about it. I live in south africa and find it quite difficult to find a service manual around here as force is relatively unknown here in these parts of the world. Can someone plse help me????????? ANYTHING would help me and can be emailed to me at galla@theraces.com<br />my motor is a 1994 force 90 it goes pretty well and has given me no hassles. I just think it is time for some routine maintenance on the cooling system to keep my outboard in top notch.

easy job hardest part is getting the unit back up.trim engine to up position 6 bolts on lower unit one under trim tab.mark tab so it cam be replaced the same way. remove shift pin from rod unit should drop.impeller is under stainless cup .note direction of fins.there is a key way has to be replaced the same way.when reinstalling engauge shift pin to up or down position so you can turn prop to get the spline on center shaft to slide into gear housing.if you need a picture e mail me can send you somthing threw the mail . good luck lonewolf5347@cs.com ;)

It doesn't matter which way the fins are. As soon as the drive shaft turns the fins will align themselves the right way. The easy way to install the impellor is to get it on the shaft with the keyway installed properly so it won't turn on the shaft. Slide the housionmg down the shaft and when the housibg gets to the impellor turn the driveshaft by hand while pushing down on the housing. The housing will go right down and the impellor will be free of any impingement.
