impellar housing question

cobra outdrive,is the metal housing supposed to be round or sorta egg shaped mine was egg shaped when taken out to be replaced thanks

thanks its off im talking about getting the metal impellar housing out of the cover appears to me from your picture that its oval shaped thanks

Yes. It is.......If it wasn't, it wouldn't pump water! Other pumps offset the impeller in a round housing to get the same effect. THis one is sort of like a "dual" chamber pump!

It should come out with gentle prying, but don't damage the plastic housing.
also it should sit level if it is tilted to one side your housing may be bad also.
