Thought I had a bad seal, but when I did the pressure test, the air was coming from an apparent blown gasket under the base the impeller housing bolts to. All the bolts are out, but this base doesn't act like it wants to lift, and I dont want to damage it. Does it just pop off? Is the seal holding it in place? Or is there a procedure for removal? 6HP 2 stroke Yamaha. 89 model. Pic below.
