impeller changed now what? HELP!!!

I just got done changing out the impeller on my yamaha F25 out board. Everything was put back together as the manual says but now nothing is coming out of the engine cooling water outlet.
I connected the hose directly to the cooling water passages and it seems there's no blockage, but when i start the engine i get nothing peeing out. Did not leave the engine on for more than 30 seconds to prevent more problems. HELP!!!

The water passage may be blocked.

Was the old impeller in one piece when removed?

The old impeller was in decent shape but i changed it out anyways. I also hooked the water hose directly to the conection that flushs through the cooling water hoses, and thats peeing out great. Can something be wrong if i put the impeller blades in the wrong position?

Did you remember to put the key back in if it has one?

I doubt it.......I would think they would correct themselves after the first revolution.
Sometimes I can't get a flow if the muffs aren't located perfectly. Instead of muffs try a large bucket of water.
If that doesn't work remove everything and do it again.

I tryed both the muffs and the bucket, still got nothing peeing out. I'll have to take it apart again and check that key.

Pull the prop off, put it in gear and rev it up to around 3 or 4 grand while in the bucket. Sometimes impellers need a little encouragement.

Thanks for all the help. took the lower end off again and the key wasn't in place, i belive i put it in upside down. Oh well live and learn.

This for whoopbass. It is my experience that impellers when fitted the wrong way round do not correct themselves.
