If I pull my drive off and remove the impeller housing to check it, do I need to change the gaskets on the wear plate? I changed the impeller last year, and the gaskets, but just want to inspect it. I do not have the upper and lower gaskets for the wear plate and they are not stocked anywhere at my dealers.

It is an alpha one gen 2 drive.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Impeller Check

Ayuh,... If I pull it apart, it's gettin' a new impeller, regardless it's condition...

The gaskets are Not reusable...

And always new gaskets. If that pump sucks air, it's not going to pump water.

Besides, gaskets were never meant to be re-used on anything.

X2.. I replaced an impeller that was visually perfect cuz my engine was pushing 160 on my 143 stat. Hmmm... now running in the low 140s again like its supposed too... Even if it doesn't have chewed up /missing vanes it can still be bad [or getting there]as the vanes lose their flexibility and take a set.... Change it !

They are cheap. If you have it apart just change it.
