impeller drection which way should they bend

just pulled mine out and needs a new one , now when i pulled it looking at the bottom side of the impeller housing with the tube end facing to the top my blades/fins was facing down is this the right way or was it put in backwards?

Depends on the rotation of your engine. The vanes bend away from the direction of rotation so that they're dragging instead of scraping.

Don't have a clue what your working on but if it's the belt driven type pump which runs off the engine on a Mercruiser the impeller blades will correct themselves even if put them in the wronge direction once you start the engine. Be sure to lubricate the impeller when you install it. Dish soap works well.
