1) My impeller housing has a little wear on the top of the shaft hole, it's a tad out of round, of the four the fins on the inside one is worn and another a little worn, that's all, everything else looks good. What exactly constitutes a worn impeller housing?

2) I have not yet removed the old cup. What chemical is used to remove the cup?

P.S.- ~~I'm awaiting arrival of the OEM service manual

It looks like the rubber impeller seals at the stainless steel cup hole and so the worn plastic housing shaft hole at the top does not matter. Am I right?

well if the motor is new to you and you plan on keeping it a while then i'd just go ahead and replace the impellar. now if your on a shoestring budget and it peed good before you took it apart then just put it back together and cross your fingers when you got it runnin at 4500rpms 3mi from the boat ramp.

I'm not talking about the impeller, I'm talking about the plastic impeller housing, please read again:
