Impeller housing

I found this groove in the impeller housing. I have heard they are bad if grooved, but where this sits I can't really seeing it causing much, if any issue. Normally I'd just replace, but I can't find one locally and so far I'm only seeing entire impeller kits for 60$ that have them included and I really don't need the down time this time of year if I can get away with it.

What do you guys think? Not worth the risk?

Re: Impeller housing

Thats coming ino the compression area for the impeller blades.
You could give it a little sand so the blades arent as likely to catch and deform/wear there (but only take off as little as is satisfactory).
Then see how will its pumping but id get one on order too it does need replacing.

Thanks for the insight. Lucked out and found one locally after digging a little deeper.
