Impeller kit maybe 30 bucks or so..
Depends on the year and model as to how to get the lower off...
You need to post more info.

Get a factory manual with the money you will save by doing it yourself vs. paying a mechanic to do it, then get the parts and go at it. It's easy, very easy, just requires a little bit of patience for first timers and some basic hand tools.

It'll be easy if it's been done routinely and properly. If it's an old motor, and has been neglected prepare yourself for some rather obstinate fasteners.

Easy job. Agree on the potentially difficult bolts. Get a manual.

do a search on youtube for marine doctor , there is a good vid showing how to change an impellor on a larger horse power model but basically the same procedure.

That'd be like reading an Algebra book to learn long division....

If your going to do the up keep on this outboard yourself (and like other's have said), pick up an OEM service manual... You will be much happier in the long run...

Ken Cook books or Ebay are both great places to pick one up and the latter being cheaper...

Good luck...
