Impeller life on 1983 15 HP Rude

What is the exected water pump impeller expectancy or service cycle for a 1983 15 Rude?

Engine gets about 25 hours per year.

I seem to be changing them avery 2.5 to 3 seasons, not sure if this is normal or not.

Every other season is a good idea in my opinion. Better to know it's good than to hope it is.

My dealer recommends every 5 years.
