I have a quick question about my 83 Bayliner w/ AQ125, 270 Volvo Penta.
When the blades rip off the impeller and pass thru the copper pipe to the heat exchange, arent the blades supposed to get trapped at the salt water strainer?
Not educated on your engine or have any experience with it either I can't give a quality opinion. With that stated, IF you have any impellor blades gone on your water pump impellor, you have an issue to find where they went and to clean out all the water jacket passages and renew the water pump system... Otherwise I see an overheated engine in your future...and at the least opportune time too...

Should be a straight shot from the raw water pump to the strainer, so yes, the pieces should end up in the strainer. Unless there are holes in it.
You can always pull the tube that goes from the pump to the strainer off and check it to make sure it's clear. Just use new seals when you put it back together.
