Re: Impeller on 82 9.8 Merc
Well I got it apart and replaced the impeller with no issues. The previsous impeller had no vanes left, literally. My neighbor didn't know it was a bad idea to dry start it before it went in the lake. Now he knows why its a bad idea..

The issue is that all those impeller pieces are now lodged soemwhere in the engine. When I start it, I get a good strong stream, but then it stops. I blow air down the telltale hole and start it and I have a strong stream again.

Any tips on removing these pieces?? I am going to remove the LU again tomorrow and see if I can blow any pieces out of there. Any other ideas other than a complete teardown??
