Impeller on Johnson esl gone?

Hi guys me again. Well I managed to get that Johnson 50 hp. esl running good. Shifts fine now but only one thing, I don't see any water coming out where I think it should be. On the back of the lower unit are two rectangular holes above it it reads "Patent Water Shield Silencing" that was my first clue:redface:My Uncle told me he used to get the mud wasps plugging the holes and I did find some larva skins in there.??? Any ideas and advice welcome Mars bar.

i never seen much water comming out of mine till i was over 1/2 throtle then it spit some water out of them slots. i drilled and taper the water jacket to put a "pee hose" on all of mine now i know for sure

Where abouts did you drill, On my other outboards I see a steady stream but this one I see nothing and I don't what to over heat.
