Impeller spin direction

Im in the process of changing out my impeller on a Volvo 5.0GL-A and once I pulled the pump impeller housing, I completely forgot to check which direction the impeller fins were spinning. If I put the new one in wrong, when the motor starts, will the impeller fins fail or will the fins just turn to the correct direction ?

Ayuh,.... Yer crankshaft turns clockwise, when viewed from the front of the motor,....

The blades should flip over,.... key word, Should,...

Great thanks, I wont chance it. I should have just asked which direction the crank spins. Do all Volvo motors spin clockwise ?

Ayuh,.... When viewed from the pulley end, Yes,...

They're All left-handed motors, standard rotation,...
