I drained my block for winterizing and then backflushed with antifreeze via the muffs and a running engine.
Do you think I smoked the impeller?

Re: Impeller/winterize Question

Well,...... That wouldn't be a Back-Flush,....As the Flow would be in the Normal direction........
And,......
IF the Impeller was Flooded when you started the Motor,.......
There's no reason to believe it would have been Smoked.............

Bond-o is right. Unless you ran out of antifreeze before you stopped the engine - then you've got problems.

Alright guys......I opened the valve on my container and let the antifreeze flow before starting the engine and then ran the enigne. Fogged while the motor was sucking antifreeze up and shut motor off.

I should be good to go. Thanks again

Re: Impeller/winterize Question

A dry impeller will smoke pretty quick, but if it was wet anyway, it will last quite a while longer...take a bit to heat up and burn off the moisture on it...
