Re: Impeller

Just run it until it fails. How else do you expect dealers to sell pistons?

If the motor is new to you, change the entire kit. Not just the impeller. Do a complete cooling system service. Now you have the baseline water pressure. Anytime it starts to change from your baseline its time to find out why. Its not unusual for a pump to last 100 hours. Less if you run in sandy / silty water or you only use the boat once a year.

Good luck!

You could change it every time the springboks beat the ALL BLACKS or ENGLAND for that matter :D :D but I change mine every 2 seasons & havent had a problem yet.If it fails it will cost you alot of money...

Re: Impeller

Is it very hard to replace the impeller on a 6hp mercury motor. I'd like to do it myself if possible.
