impossible dip stick reading?

Checked my oil by dip stick on 2012 300 HP Yamaha. Boat on the work rack bow up somewhat with motor fully down.
Initially dip stick showed one drop at the very end. Repeat of inserting dip stick gave same results. I leveled the engine with trim switch. Abundant oil on the dip stick.
Is the internal structure of the oil chamber such that this is possible, or am I just one of those people that doesn't know that a new week begins on Sunday?

I was under the impression that any dipstick oil level reading needs to be on level ground to read properly. I can see a huge difference reading any dipstick if it is not level reading too high or too low real easy. If it is level and reads too low, it is time to add or change the oil and filter too if it has one... JNHO!
