In need of old school fuel pump...... I think

Hello all wise (old) captains of the water, :)

I need a little info on a 9.5 HP Johnson. The model number is MQ-13m. It seems to be a hard little motor to find parts on. The fuel pump housing is cracked and every time I pressure up the line it pours out the side. We took the fuel pump apart and the rubber diaphram is also torn.

I think this motor is from 1967. I have done some searches on here looking for some guidance. The 67s that people are looking for parts on are different model numbers. They start with a 9 or something that looks way different. Is this model what people call a "Turtleback" of fisherman? Could i pull up a 1968 diagram and use that?

What i really need is a site that i have confidence in buying a fuel pump. What more common models share the same fuel pump?
Anychance in finding one less than $35? (just another broke college kid trying to spend more time on the water than in a classroom)

Thank you all very much in advance
This site always seems to provide great info.
Us newbies greatly appreciate it.

Jacob

Thank yall for the links,

In the mean time I took the old square style fuel pump off a 1976 6hp Rude. Because I was limited on hose length, I had mount the donor fuel pump up side down to get the hose barbs on the correct side. Does this being upside down affects its function? It still idles way too rough.

Thanks again,
Jacob

The fuel pump does not directly affect the idle unless the gasket between the pump and the engine is loose or there is an air leak.

Consider rebuilding the carburetor if not already done. Have you adjusted the lean/rich needle?

I do not believe that the pump will operate properly mounted with the pump body upside down. The outside barb (the one on the pump cover) is free to rotate to any position.

Now in need of more parts for the 1967 9.5

Now in need of more parts for the 1967 9.5

First of all, thanks for all the help guys!

Heres an update. After taking the fuel pump off my 6 horse, I got my 9.5 running just fine in the bucket. So good, that I put it on the boat and headed to the lake. Pushed it off the trailer, Got it started, Then eased into the throttle. This is the first time I've had it out and put a full load on it while it was running good. It built RPMs just fine then the dreaded high rev. Long story short. Spun Prop!! :( Prop shop said it was too ate up and that i needed a new prop. Bummer. So in search of a new prop for fairly cheap, this is what i found.

http://www.propcopropellers.com/evinrude_Outboard_Prop.htm

My prop is 8 1/4 X 8 1/2. Its the thrid option down for $73.
Main question, Is this the correct prop?

From previous replys, I still have the part number for a new fuel pump, I also want to make sure that I have the correct shear pin in there.
Could some one please link me to the correct shear pin part number.

And Finally, I am in need of a part number for the lower seal on my lower unit.

I would naturally track down a diagram, and just go from there but am having trouble finding one for my exact motor. I know earlier that it was said that i could use parts form other models through the same year range. Just wanted to double check before I sank $150+

Thanks a thousand time men!
