Inboard Flush Ideas...

I'm helping a friend get her rig ready for the season, but don't want to put the $35 up for a flush kit for her '02 something inboard wakeboard boat. Does anyone have any tricks to get water to the motor w/o a kit? I know I can always follow the line and try to hook directly into the engine, but wanted to try to keep it simple.

Thanks!!

Wouldn't she need a flush rig for use after each time she took the boat out? I thought everyone flushed their engine out after each trip.

Find the thru hull that supplys water to the engine and pull the hose off inside the hull. Stick that hose in a 5 gallon bucket and run a garden hose into it. Turn on the garden hose and when the bucket is 3/4 full, start the engine. The garden hose will replenish the water supply as the engine pulls it out.
Cost $0 :D

Why flush after every time out? It's a freshwater reservoir mostly filled w/ mountain runoff. Extremely little alge or other growth in there. The boat always goes to the same lake, and has 7-14 days between trips. Aquatic hitchikers die in that timeframe (in this heat). So, what could that lake cause that our hard city water wouldn't?

wouldn't that kill the impeller, as it runs dry?

Ayuh,... I'd just skip the bucket,+ jamb the garden hose into the pickup hose...
