increase prop pitch ?

Hey everyone:<br /> I have a Glastron 195 sx 5.0 volvo 220 h.p. 2- barrel carb. 21 " s.s. prop. Runs 4650rpm @wot. 57 mph. Just put 4-barrel holley on and it runs 5000rpm @wot. 59 mph. Will it benefit me to increase my prop to a 23s.s. to lower my rpm and if i do so will it increase my top end ? Higher speed is what i'm looking for. Thanks for any comments.

It might but you will lose some hole-shot. And results will depend on whether you stay with the same prop manufacturer and design.
