IMAG0265.jpgWell just want to know if anyone has on already or use one.
I bought a Davis swim stirrup ladder last summer work ok.
Won't say good but ok. I was looking to see if anyone owns
The st. Croix stainless steel 3 step folding ladder?
Is it worth the extra cash for a good boarding ladder or would it end up being the same.
I was looking at the garelick ladder but don't care about pricing I care about boarding.
As I have females and kids that I would like for them to board with eaze.

Re: inflatable boat ladder (sib)

Have used the St. Croix one and it is quite nice. Quite expensive too.

A lower priced alternative that my wife likes is one from Italy. Sold by a few places in the US. I know Defender offers it. Probably others do as well. Link: http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|294|92384&id=1505987

They also have one that is telescoping (stainless steel), but we have not tried it.

We ran webbing permanently under and around our floorboards as a point to secure the ladder to. Worked out pretty well.

Looks kinda like the garelick ladder except no handle on top and it doesn't round of for the tube shape.
But yes looks way better than garelick you say you own that? ( defender) and you like the st croix? As you tried it once.
So there both good then I'm sure , thanks again going to research those two as I would like to buy one good one and hopefully be my last.
I don't want to get stuck with two and find myself looking again and then spend more money second time should be able to nail it. I well let you know thanks again.

Ladder mentioned looks nice, but it's capacity seems a bit low (165#). I'm 5'11 and of smaller build than the average American and would exceed (a little) the ladder capacity. Most of the people that I have had in my RIB would exceed that ladder's limits.

ssobol,

a valid point and I never focused on the capacty. I exceed it, but not by much. My wife, who is about your height, probably exceeds it too. If it broke, I am sure she'd still say go buy another because it is very light and easy to stow.

the st Croix one I tried was definitely more robust and I'd bet it could handle a greater load.

That should be a consideration in the selection process. I agree.

All those ladders are just for the initial foot stand up kick from water, once your belly is in middle of inflatable tube, move forward and you are already in...

What about just making a stirrup with a loop at the end of a rope and reinforcing it with a piece of pipe?

Or have a good set of proffessional fins available inside sib/rib, just in case..
