Hi everyone.

I recently bought a 1995 Zodiac 10.5' after winterizing my big boat. Whilst winterizing the 23' Larson, I noticed the keel was rubbed to s**t from beaching it at 'the party cove' in Sandy Hook, NJ. The Zodiac, mated with a 5HP Nissan was the answer to the beaching problem.

The Zodiac needs help. I'm wondering if you could advise:

The floor "mat" of the Zodiac is seperating in some places from the tubes.

First, the Zodiac is PVC, right?

What glue or adhesive would you recommend to re-seal this seam? Where could I get such an adhesive?

Are there any techniques you'd recommend to do this job?

Any help is appreciated!

Ken Ameika
Red Bank, NJ

Ken:

Here's a link to Zodiak with everything you need to know. Any Zodiak dealer or quite a few on-line sources sell the glue and patch kits. You can also purchase rolled strips to apply to the worn bottom.

http://www.zodiac.ca/info/repairs.html

Zodiac is pvc for sure. They make their own glue which you can get at Boaters World. There are also 2 part glues that are supposed to be better. What condition is the transom in.Zodiac had problems with the glue around the transom drying out and failing.Charlie

Ken also,Zodiac makes a repair kit that contains a glue that I found to be far superior to the glue that they sell seperate from the kit, though they claim it to be the same,it is not.Charlie
