Hello, I recently bought this hydroplane and I was wondering if anyone recognized it. I'm assuming it was built from a kit or plans, It is roughly 8 feet by 3 feet. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.....

Porto- You look a little young to be driving that thing by yourself. Does your mom know you're on the internet?? :p

Re: Info needed on hydroplane

Thanks Guys, I'll check those sites and see if I can find a similar boat to compare.

I just got the hydroplane and had to try it out. I couldn't get the boat to plane with my 6 horse and I almost sunk it with my 18 horse (guess I need a 10hp). I'm assuming it's made for kids, and as you can see, my 2 year old is a little young yet. ;)

I don't know what type boat that is but have a comment. A small hydro like this can swap ends if you chop the power at high speed too fast...just be aware that it is a posibility. I built a very similar flat bottom 8' hydro (minimax) with 15hp Evinrude and experienced the "thrill" of a 180 at 25mph in it. Lesson learned in 2 seconds.

Thanks BillP, I'll keep that in mind. I think this little boat is going to be for display, after I get it out once (with the correct motor).
