Info needed on Neptune A-2 outboard

My stepdad has a chance to get an old Neptune A-2 3.3hp outboard. Its a 1948 model that runs good. He was wondering if it has any collector value.<br />Thanks

If he restored it and made it all shiny, I would pay 400 for it, if I collected them I collect the eltos, if he has one of those $800.00

He bought the Neptune today..for $300. Looks almost new as it has less than 100hrs on it. Just some scratches on one side of the tank...probally from being transported in the trunk of a car or something.<br /><br />He bought it from the original owners son...with all the original manuals, stickers, tags, etc. Even still has the original spark plug in it that has the screw type terminal.That was a first for me...never knew they were like that.
