info on tracker force merc engine?

I'm confused. I am looking to buy a 98 pro team 185 basstracker. This one has a 75hp tracker force power series by Mercury. I've read here that force engines are made by Chrysler. Are all tracker engines made by force/Chrysler or just this particular engine? Are the other basstracker engines regular Mercury engines or does tracker make their own engines?

Tracker Boats has used many different brands of motors over the years with thier name stamped on them. You probably have a Force engine made recently by Mercury, the last owner of the now defunct/discontinued Force engines. Fairly good motor for your particular usage...jus' old technology. And no, Tracker never made any engines...

Keep in mind there is no factory parts support except for that allready in the sustem.<br /> Compare Force posts here to evinrude/johnson,Merc.<br /> Keep in mind Force was in production for about<br /> 15 years E/J almost 100 and Merc about 60 years.<br /> Also resale is pretty shakey.
