Information on 1980 Holiday Cruiser 22(also known as 224)

I bought a 1980 holiday cruiser 22 back in 2015 February, the block is cracked and i plan to weld it temporary together to see what other issue this boat might have before jumping in completely in and getting lost along the way. I am working on minor things at the moment such as removing the tint on the window, barely have washed it down. As i have had this boat on storage, the motor did fire up, and the outdrive seems to work. But when its off and you spin the propeller i can hear a metal clinging not sure if that is a good or bad thing. Do you guys have any information on this boat? I made a cut on the interior deck to see if the stringer were rotten and unfortunately the first inch top of the stringer is rotten and the rest is solid, but looking around in that small 4inch by 4inch cut i only see one stringer is that normal or am i missing something?

Start a topic in the correct motor forum for the most help about the motor and outdrive,.cracks, clicks etc...

I'd expect a 22ft boat to have more then 1 stringer below deck.

If you found a rotten stringer, there is a lot of work ahead. Moving this to the resto forum.
