Information on 1997 Evinrude 150's Ocean Pro's

Can anyone tell me how sound these engines are? I'm thinking of buying a Grady that has a pair of these on the back. According to the boat yard, the boat and engines have been well taken care of. I've seen them and they are very clean. They have 625 hrs. on them, I'm wondering when I can anticipate having to rebuild them, etc... What in the way of compression should I be looking for out of the cylinders? Info. like this and any other suggestions would be helpful when I demo them. I dont believe there were any 1989 150 Ocean Pro's. Lets start with the model number so we can "see" what we're dealing with.<br /><br />Good luck!

Make sure they give you the model numbers. Thats how to tell what they are.

I am a big fan of the 60 degree 150-175's. I have one on a Dusky. Great motor. One of the best designs, in my opinion, of a carb'd 2 stroke.<br /><br />The compression should not vary more than 15 lbs from high to low. Nothing but Champion plugs!!!
