Information on a boat

I've just purchased an old boat. The only information I can find on the boat is a couple of logos. The one on the dash is "Viking" set in a Viking ship the other is "Performer" located on the aft side. Does any one know where I can find information on this? I'm looking to restore it.

does it have a motor, there should be a hull number somewhere

It has a Johnson Super Sea-Horse 80Hp motor model # V4AL-18C. As for a hull number I know I've seen them on the transom but this has no data plate that I can find. The previous owner has a hull number of NVZ652040895. I think this was created at the time of registration.

you should be able to research that, because on the registration or the title it will give you the hull number and the type of boat, did the previous owner know?

The registration i have has the year as UK (unknown) Length 16'8" Type:1 Hull:2 Prop:2 Fuel:1 Use:1 Make of Boat: Viking

go online and perform a search for this, it should turn something up, or you may can contact a local boat dealer, these guys are often very knowledgeable on the different boats out there.

I've found that Chris-Crfat bought Viking Boats in 1982 and renamed them Chris-Craft Sportdecks. I know this will probably be a long project but I think well worth it.

Your HIN of NVZ652040895 indicates that the boat was registered in Neveda (NV)as a untitled or home built (Z), so the HIN won't help. <br /><br />MIC Database Search Results<br /> <br />MIC Company Address City State <br />NVZ NEVADA HOMEMADE BOATS MIC FOR STATE ISSUED HINS NV <br /><br />Do an internet search for "Classic Boat" clubs and groups. They will be your best bet

Thanks for all your help. I wa lucky enough to find a data plate while I was hosing down the interior. It has on it "Built and Distributed by **** Schuster Custom Boats, Long Beach Calif" It also has a spot for the Model and serial number which I can't make out.
