Could anyone please give me some information or possible faults with the above outboard with serial no,s of
70EL74M C - 9435
runs well, but i unfortunatly know absolutly nothing when it comes to outboards though i've been a mechanic all my life!!.
And could some one also be as kind to tell me the correct fuel/oil mix( i do not want to gain experience from a re-build)
many thanks
windgage.

Howdy, WG.

Your mix should be 50:1. .5 litres TC-W3 outboard oil to 25 litres 91 octane (RON) petrol in a "standard" outboard tank.

Your engine is a 1974 model.

I recommend a Repair Manual. Click on Repair Manuals at the bottom of the page.

Good luck. :)

Thanks j.b for the speedy reply, i'll go and order the repair manual but i hope that doesn,t
mean i'll have to use it to much???.
While im waiting for the manual do you mind if i
ask a couple of questions.
a. what would the spark plug gap be?
b. is there any thing that usually goes wrong with this type of engine.
c. and does the lower end gears just run in normal hypoid gear oil?
sorry for the interigation
regards
WG
