Information on this Outdrive

I know obviously it is a mercruiser outdrive for the 470, but can anyone tell me anything else about it? Also how would I go about changing the water impeller?

I believe the serial # is 6005023


There is a number that is below the big 470 plate, and it reads (I think) 5913299 184R

Any Help Would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thats just it, there are several different manuals in there that would match the boat year, but I dont know if this is the original motor/outdrive... I dont know what type of outdrive as well to be able to get the right manual..

would it be

Service Manual #4 1978 to 1982 120 to 260 Sterndrives (aka One drives) (301MB)

Service Manual #5 1978 to 1993 TR - TRS outdrives

or

Service Manual #6 R, MR, Alpha I outdrives 1983 to 1990


I was just wondering if someone could help me figure out what type of drive it is.... (i.e. "one drive" ; TRS; or Alpha I)

Ayuh,... It's a Model 1, Pre-Alpha, Early 470, 1 Drive, take your pick of the various names of the same drive...
You need manual #4,...
Definitely not a TRS...
