Here in Louisiana there is an insect that likes to build it's mud nest in small holes. I have found the nozzle of the fire extinguisher on the boat plugged solid with mud that will not blow out if the extinguisher is needed. My solution is to put a foam ear plug in the nozzle. It keeps the insects out and will be blown out if the extinguisher is needed.

Buttanic

Market that Idea!

All you have to do is convince fire districts and areas like that that those mud dobbers are a real problem, they write it into code, and they must be in use, then sell the product to all the fire supression companies....

2nd thought, don't market it........... :)

I've seen wasps & mud daubers make nests in water intakes & exhaust ports.

Just a short follow up to Ed - - For that reason it is a good idea to test all drain pumps once in a while - - especially the bilge pump. I spent an hour a couple of months ago doing this. I have 3 overboard drains and all were plugged solid.
