I have a 1989 Crestliner aluminum boat that the foam is water logged in some spots and others it’s in good shape but doesn’t completely fill the voids and is starting to rot the deck. So I am removing all of the foam and trying to be careful not to scratch what I think is an existing primer. But there are some areas that have scratched bare metal. Is there a way that I can prime these areas without having to strip all of the old primer off. Any tips on removing foam would also be great. I am going to be filling under the new deck with 2lb pour in foam. My plan is to install the deck then drill holes in it to pour the foam so that I can completely fill the voids. Thank you for your time.
