Install trim gauge on 40HP Johnson.

I am interested in installing a trim gauge on a 40 HP 2001 Johnson two stroke. The motor has power tilt/trim.<br /><br />My dealer wasn't sure, but thought that it already included the sending unit on the OB and showed me where to look. It appears to have some type of mechanism.<br /><br />Anyone know what is involved to make this happen?

Hey Marty,<br />I just installed a trim gauge on my not-so-new '76 'rude and the sending unit as a arm that is spring loaded to follow the engine frame. It has 2 wires that go to the tilt/trim control box. From there, the two wires go forward to the trim gauge. Hope this helps,<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty
