First off, let me say thank you to all of the helpful members of this website. I can't say enough about Don S, and all the help he has given me (starting issues, pulley, etc.)
I would consider myself somewhat mechanically inclined, but my problem is as follows:
I can idle all day, and the temp stays normal, after going above 1/2 throttle, the temp creeps up to the higher end of the tolerance zone. Being cautious not to blow the engine, I slow down at this point or shut engine off completely. (Only happened on one outing, noticed halfway to destination, and on the way back.)
I just recently purchased this boat, and do not know when the last time the impeller was changed, but I believe the impeller to be the issue. A mechanic told me to replace impeller as well as thermostat with I believe a 140?
Is there a forum that I seem to have overlooked, or any links to installing an impeller? It seems easy, but I want to do it right, instead of worrying about a new motor.
Thanks again, and once again, I feel indebted to the people who constantly help: Don S, chiefalen, as well as the others. Thank you all very much.
