installing live well timer

I want to install a livewell timer switch to my 2012 Bass Tracker Pro 165. My issue is that my livewell and bilge pump or on the same toggle switch. You push the switch up for bilge and down for for the livewell. What is the best way to install the timer? Will have I have to run complete new wiring to the livewell timer? As you can probably tell, I am not an electrician.

No you can use the existing wiring and just add what you need and keep it on the same switch depending on what timer you get.

I'd add another on-off-on switch to run the livewell pump, since you're adding a timer. One position to fill the tank, the other position to run the timer.

Or,,, buy a new switch for the bilge pump and run the existing switch for the 2 functions of the livewell, fill and timer.
