This migh be a dumb question, but I would problably look dumber standing on the bow if a sinking runabout.

I'm replacing my old leaky 18 gal bow tank with a 19 gallon plastic moeler tank. (gas)
I saw a recomendation that tanks be elevated about 2" for ventalation under them, and inded the steel tank was.

The instructions on the plastic tank, say it needs to be fully supported.
Does this mean to mount it flat on the bottom, or more supporting 2X4s need to be added?

Thanks

If you look on the bottom of the tank, you will probably see indentations for some type of support system, other than flat.

I would put the tank on a 5/8-3/4" piece of plywood. Plastic, unsupported, will not take the stress from pounding that steel will.
