I PURCHASED A BOAT WITH A 1985 YAMAHA (REBUILT) 200HP. IT HAS NO WATER TEMP GAUGE. THERE IS A THREADED PLUG LOCATED ON THE TOP OF ONE OF THE HEADS WHICH GETS REMOVED TO INSTALL THE SENSOR. I TRIED UNSCREWING IT BUT IT IS FROZEN(CORRODED). I DON'T WANT TO BREAK SOMETHING IN THE PROCESS. ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR EITHER REMOVING IT OR ALTERNATE METHOD OF SENSOR MOUNTING WOULD BE APPRECIATED.THANK YOU......

Re: INSTALLING TEMP GAUGE SENSOR

the faria brand gauge comes with a sensor that bolts on to the top of the cyl head ,it reads the cyl head temp not the water temp like the teleflex. real easy instal and not alot of money.if you are putting a water pressure gauge on you will have to free that plug up,use some heat it wont hurt.
