Hello, I want to install a trim gauge on my boat but have never done it (or seen it done for that matter). What will I need in order to do this. I know of course I will need the gauge, some wiring and something to attach to the outdrive.

I was curious how the sequence worked. 1.) Trim switch (on throttle) sends signal to outdrive, 2.) outdrive sends signal to trim gauge. I know thats a very simple way of putting it, but is that correct?

Is there a "kit" available that would have everything I need to do this?

Thanks for any help or advise you may have.

1st you need a mercruiser trim sender or complete kit, a trim gauge... anny type with 10-167 ohm range.
You need 12v+ and ground- wire for the gauge, one of the two black sender wires to the S terminal on gauge, other black to ground -
Good luck!
