My BIL just got a camper trailer. The fridg worked good for the first couple of weeks. It is a dual voltage + propane. Now it is dead on the 115 volt circuit.

Last night I went and trouble shot it for him. Found the 120volt/255watt heater element wires burnt off from the porcelin. WIth my meter probes pushed down inside where the wires burnt off, I have continuity. I can't see any way to solder them or mechanically fasten them back in. So we need a new on.

Spent several hours last night trying to find one on the web. Does anyone know who might carry these heating elements? THe only numbers we found on the unit is IM-163-18411 (possible serial #) Then RV-163 we think is the model #. On the element itself is 255w and 120 volt.

Any help in finding one would be appreaciated....Thanks.....SS

Re: Instamatic Refrigerator

Whats the brand name? When dads Norcold went out (the element) went to my local RV parts house and picked up a new element.

Edit: sorry didn't catch the topic. Never heard of that brand but once I did have a Kodak Instamatic 110. Couldn't resist.

Re: Instamatic Refrigerator

Thanks dolluper, They have what I need. To find out, someone had replaced it already. The fridge is surpose to be a 3 way. BIL said he couldn't get it to work on the 12 volt. No wonder, whoever replaced it didn't put the dual voltage element back into it. Its ordered, if it is the right one, I know he will be happy. WHat should I charge for the repair? 1 case of of longnecks or 2? :D :p

Hey Cajun, I bet you stayed at an Holiday Inn Express too! :p
