Intake manifold and Carb Question

Quick question, I have a 8 bolt intake manifold with a 2 barrel carb set up.I want to install my 4 barrel on this intake manifold. I am wondering if I use a adapter plate will I lose performance? Will I just be dumping gas into the water?

Ayuh,.... Save yer money, 'n buy the Right manifold,...

Adaptin' yer 2 barrel manifold will not work out the way ya want it too....
