Intake Outake WaterPump ?

Want to install Perko Flush Kit on 97 Volo Penta 7.4 DP. Cannot determine exactly which hose to water pump is Intake. Tried looking at schematics, Did not eliminate confusion. It appreas the hose on the left goes back and up the rear of the engine and into the transom area. Think it is intake, but not sure. Any suggestions?

The hose that the raw water impeller sucks through (intake) should be a A LOT stiffer than the outlet hose. Is one hose a steel reinforced hose? If so, that's the intake hose.

Since Volvo doesn't use year as a model desigantion, and the model makes a big difference sometimes. What is the FULL model number of your engine?
