Took the family out for a few hours yesterday and it was the first time without either my brother in law or father in law. Everything seemed to go pretty good until we were heading back. We get back to the dock, everything went well docking until it was time to connect the winch. I was going to drive the boat up onto the trailer but with a brand new crew and a busy marina we just pulled it up onto. We connect the winch and all I hear once tight was snap, snap, snap. I get out and find the winch gear turning sideways, with the help of another boater we managed to get it up onto the trailer but leaving about an inch before the boat was into the hull block. Looks like a new winch today and hopefully the boat doesn't fall off while I'm replacing it. Then as we were sitting there, a docking stall over, there was a really, really nice boat getting ready to load up and a small fishing boat next to it waiting to load as well. The guy of the really, really nice boat left to go get his rig and left his wife/girlfriend in it when all of a sudden you hear a metal grinding thump. For some reason she got sideways in the stall and reversed it into the smaller fishing boat....thats a noise I don't want to hear again!. Luckily no one was hurt.
