Key Dahmer figure arrested in drowning

Tracy Edwards, the man who 20 years ago escaped from Jeffrey Dahmer and brought about the serial killer's arrest, is one of two men who were arrested late Tuesday at the scene of the drowning off the Wisconsin Avenue Bridge.

The drowning followed a fight among three men. One ended up in the Milwaukee River and a second man jumped in to try to save him, police said.

Police said they classified the drowning as a homicide but declined to provide additional details about the incident, including whether Edwards had been in the river. The other two men were not identified. Police said all three were homeless.

Update:
MILWAUKEE - The only victim to escape Jeffrey Dahmer is charged this afternoon with recklessly endangering safety for an incident earlier this week in which a man died.

According to prosecutors, Tracy Edwards and another man, Timothy Carr were arguing with a man on the Wisconsin Avenue bridge over the Milwaukee River.

A witness tells authorities that the two men picked up the victim and threw him over the bridge. That victim, Johnny Jordan, fell to the water head first. According to prosecutors, Jordan struggled struggled in the water before he eventually went under.

The Medical Examiner says Jordan drowned.
It's unclear what led to the argument.
If convicted of the charge, Edwards and Carr face up to 12-and-a-half years in prison.

Edwards escape from Dahmer eventually led to the serial killer's capture in Milwaukee 20 years ago.

He's being held on a 10,000 dollar bond.

The Dahmer story, was certainly one for the books.

Since he passed away in a bathroom...... I was told years ago.......... that day is considered a Plumber's Holiday

Not to split hairs, but he didn't "pass away". My father passed away. My friend had an untimely passing away. Dahmer was bludgened to death by a weight lifters curl bar. He was killed. Not that I'm complaining about it, but I think the term 'passing away' should be reserved for someone who's death will leave a solemn memory. Not to be placed on a murdering cannibalistic sick freak.
