Re: Intermediate bearing replacement on DP-C1
Hi Don....thank you
You just need to get a good grip on the end of the shaft without damaging the splines.
I do not remember if the hole that you see in the head shaft is threaded.
If it is threaded, I can use beater rod
I've personally never been lucky enough to pull it off. Always salt water boats with serious rust and corrosion issues preventing it, but you might not be that bad off.
The boat is in fresh water for many years but it was also 7 years of sea.
(see the usual housing bolts as they are rusty)
My problem is an unusual noise at the trasmission...
Conditions in which I hear the noise:
Stationary boat; engine at 2,500 rpm (also 2.000...but no at idle). Rudder to the center, everything ok .. no noise.
Steering to the right or left, the noise appears. More increases the steering angle, the noise increases.
Everything seems to the joints, but in April of last year I pulled the transmission for checking joints: they were perfect ... no loose or hardening.
Is it possible that this noise comes from the intermediate bearing?
thank you
