Hello guys, new to the forum, I've looked all over for some info on my issue on this forum and I did find some stuff but not everything I'm looking for.
So here's the situation, I have a 1989 Johnson 28hp spl M# j28eslcea that will run beautiful most of the time but then all of a sudden it will start stalling at idle or low rpm's
Or when I come off plane from a long wot run it will stall when I come back to neutral.
It starts right back up every time and I'll go to put it in gear and boom it stalls. This happens a few times then it will eventually stop doing it and be fine again and will idle and run beautiful again!
So far I have changed plugs wires coil packs this year. Last year I rebuilt the fuel pump and the year before I rebuilt my carb putting a new seat and needle in along with a new float.
I was thinking maybe an air/fuel leak but couldn't see any visual leaking but I went ahead and re clamped all my fuel connections and have not had a chance to take it out since I've done the re clamping of the fuel lines. I'm going to take it for a Cruze after work today to see if it still does it.
The thing is, is I can go out today and it probably won't do it then I'll go on a fishing trip and be 13 miles from my truck and trailer and it will do it which is super nerve racking but it always seems to start back up and gets me home.
If anyone has any other ideas on what could cause this that would be awesome!!
Thank you in advance for any help you guys may be able to give!!
Thank you!!
