1995 Johnson Ocean Runner 60 deg. V6 150 hp
Engine runs great, but on our last outing the oil warning horn sounded and we shut her down. Checked oil resevoir. It's capacity is 1.8 gal. It took about 2 thirds of a gallon. Engine cranks up fine and we are on our way, no excess smoke, all normal.
Later on we crank up full bore to pass another boat and horn goes off, same drill, topped off the tank with the remaining third of a gallon just to be safe. All's fine for a while then horn again. This time oil is still full. We crank up and putt back to landing, trailer and home. What do you guys think?

Re: Intermitent oil injection warnings

Sorry guys. Just read an article on your faq page and I think I am hearing the overheat horn. It was a solid tone, not the intermitent horn of the oil pump. The intakes were clear...water pump maybe?

Stuck thermostat is also a possibility.
